Tour Operators in Salta, Argentina
There are a lot of tour operators, travel agents etc. in Salta. I can personally recommend two who were very helpful to me: Saltur and Nordic Viajes.
Here are the owners, Marina (on the left) and Ruth. One day I was a little lost in Salta and I stopped in here to ask for some help. Ruth got on the computer and looked up something for me and it was just what I needed. Then Marina offered me a map of Salta to make sure I knew where I was going. Although this was the only experience I had with them so far, it was a good one and it probably indicates a general friendly, helpful attitude on their part. I went back later to take a pic and collect a little more info. I found out that Marina has over 15 years experience in tourism and Ruth has recently studied tourism in Buenos Aires. Their agency is about one year old as of 2006. Mostly they provide travel services to locals but they also help foreign tourists with trips around Salta, hotel accomodations and special packages. Mairna doesn't speak English but Ruth's English is pretty good.
