More notes and comments

In HI hostels you often find a lot of extra things to do, for an extra cost.
By the way, in case this looks expensive and appears that pizza and beer
costs 130 dollars, it is actually 130 Uruguayan pesos, or about 5 US dollars.

A note about almost all the hostels in Argetnina and Uruguay. What they call breakfast is usually bread, jelly, and coffee or tea. Or in Argentina, croissants, which they call "media lunas". To me this isn't really breakfast, just so you are forewarned if you expect bacon, eggs, pancakes, cereal, orange juice etc!

In this pic you see jelly, then butter, then bread, then coffee, tea and milk. There were also apples and oranges on the table.

By the way, you could always have ome Pilsen beer for breakfast I suppose, as you see in the background!

One small complaint about the this hostel.

When I was there in May it was almost winter in Uruguay. It was a little chilly in the hostel, although they did have floor heaters. But there was no hot water in the kitchen. So when it was time to wash your dishes, your hands got cold. As you can see in the picture below the handle had been removed from the faucet. I have seen this in other hostels too around Argentina and Uruguay. Of course in countries like Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador you may not even have hot water for your showers!
